Bio

Robert Epps aka Deity’s career began with Re:Fresh in 2011 as their Essence Festival DJ, which parlayed into a position as the official DJ of rap group Team Robot. DJ Deity’s New Orleans residencies and parties include: the electro-hip-hop party Trap at the Republic, with Kid Kamillion, Team Bayside High, Otto, and Force Feed Radio; the monthly multi-genre dance parties Dan$e Noir at Le Saint and PITCH at Hi-Ho Lounge. As a resident at Club Ampersand, opening for tours including the Certified Trap Tour, with DJ Sliink, Loudpvck, and Dirty South Joe, Heroes X Villains, and Mayhem. National dates include Almost Famous at Blind Barber in New York City, with Dash Speaks, K. Flay, and NSR. At the recent Superbowl XLVII, Epps spun private parties for athletes and fans at Bellocq in the Hotel Modern. He is a New Orleans Fashion Week DJ, spinning the Fall/Winter 2013 kickoff party at the Civic Theatre, multiple fashion shows at the Saratoga, and after parties at Bellocq.

Epps increasingly branches into new artistic and lifestyle directions. In the fall of 2012, he helped styled and art-directed a photo shoot and helped style the “Plastic Dreams” music video for rap artist G-Eazy. Epps has also walked in multiple runway shows for designers FairFit, Matt Arthur, and Dope; and was a cover model for the “Food Issue” of InvadeNOLA magazine.

Talent, determination, experience, and a love for music have shaped DJ Deity’s reputation in New Orleans and beyond. Epps continues to produce music for and with various artists and for video projects. With his strong background in musicality, performance, and industry, one can only look forward to Deity’s upcoming projects and events.
